Changes to the Lodgment Rules – 100% on-line plan lodgment

Changes to the Lodgment Rules come into effect on 1 July 2025. The changes require all deposited plans and strata plans to be lodged for registration electronically, through the NSW LRS Connect Portal.

Why are changes being made
  • Already, 99% of plans are lodged electronically through NSW LRS Connect, taking advantage of the efficiencies provided by an on-line lodgment and registration process.
  • 100% on-line plan lodgment is the next step in the digital survey plan reform. A move to intelligent digital survey plans will reduce errors and support a more efficient, accurate and accessible cadastre.
What do the changes mean
  • From 1 July 2025, NSW LRS will no longer accept over the counter lodgment of survey plans.
  • All survey plan lodgments and re-lodgments must be made using NSW LRS Connect.
Support during transition
  • Paper plans prepared before 1 July 2025 can still be lodged for registration. They can be scanned by a surveyor and lodged using a NSW LRS Connect workspace.
