Execution of documents by strata and community schemes – new requirements from 30 September 2022

From 30 September 2022, owners corporations and community associations will no longer be able to execute documents (including land registry instruments) by signing as an alternative to affixing a common seal. Instead, a physical or electronic form of the seal is required to execute documents.

These new requirements allowing electronic seals will replace the temporary COVID-19 measures that have applied to strata and community schemes since June 2020. There are also new requirements relating to electronic voting at meetings for strata and community schemes.
