Hands over old record books

Over three million Registrar General paper records have been digitised and are now available online to customers. Additionally, approximately 130,000 paper volumes and plans have been transferred to State Archives and Records Repository (SARA) for permanent retention.

This is part of a project funded by NSW Land Registry Services and managed by Spatial Services. The project is digitising 13 record sets - 10 of which are now entirely available online via NSW LRS’ Historical land records viewer and approved information brokers.

The table below provides a snapshot of the status of each record set:

Note:

1 Digitisation of General Register of Deeds continued from a previous government project where just over 2 million Deeds were digitised in addition to those digitised, as part of this project.

2 The Powers of Attorney and Trust Registers are particularly fragile and not being digitised before transfer to SARA. Scans of these documents can be obtained from SARA, please email [email protected].
